Maybe it's me

We got Grady's allergy test results back. He's allergic to wheat, milk and eggs. Awesome. I know that milk gives him hives, and in retrospect I realize that eggs make him puke, but I'm not sure what wheat does to him. And wheat is in everything, so it's not as though he hasn't been getting any.

Since we're not sure just how allergic he is, and since he's not growing well, we have to take him down to Children's in Pittsburgh next week. He'll have a more intense (3 hour) allergy test then, and we may consult with a dietician to figure out what the best thing is for G. I am less than excited by this latest turn of events, but I can't say I'm surprised--Grady has been too "normal" thus far, and we obviously needed something to shake things up a bit.

In other news, Evan is doing wonderfully, and he's looking forward to a summer of fun. He's excited about the beach and Waldameer and Uncle Jer coming to visit and going to Idlewild and baseball games and Cleveland and 8 million other things that he rattles on about all day long. We took the training wheels off of his bike today, and I think it was a lot harder to ride than he had anticipated. But Ev is determined to be on two wheels, so that's something else we can work on this summer. I remember several traumatic events from my own childhood involving bikes, but while I'm very nervous I'll try not to project that on to my eager young son. Besides, our mailboxes are attached to our houses, not at the curb waiting for him to hit them and black out.

We turned in the keys for our old apartment today too, and we're officially done with that place. It feels really good--now I can focus on this place and getting things unpacked before my brother comes home next Saturday. No pressure.
