Mike took Evan on his first plane ride this weekend--he had some vouchers he had to use so he was able to get two tickets to travel from the Franklin Regional Airport to Cleveland so they could spend a few days with Mike's folks. Evan was super excited about his trip, and he reportedly didn't freak out at all. Hopefully he does as well on the return this evening, after a fun-packed time with his grandparents.
So Grady and I have been home alone all weekend, which has been a bit of a challenge because I'm still getting over a sinus infection and the weather has been crap. I've tried to be creative about entertaining young G, but I could tell that all he really wanted was to go outside. We spent some time roaming the mall with Beth yesterday, which was fun but really, there's nothing for little kids to do there aside from a few stupid coin-operated rides. We went to Toys R Us and played there and picked up a new Matchbox helicopter and fire truck. We made a fort out of blankets. It was nice to have some time with just Grady, but I just wish there had been a little more sunshine involved.
So now we're cleaning up our messes before we head up to Erie to see my dad and then back down to pick the boys up in Franklin. Happy Father's Day to all of the awesome dads out there, especially Evan and Grady's. He's a pretty fantastic guy, and we're so happy he's ours!
