Glass of milk

Evan has two days left before he becomes a second grader. Every day for the past week he's been pointing out what's ending--today it was "this is my last Monday in first grade!". He's also come home with a full backpack every day, and I'm starting to think his class is responsible for deforestation. One day he cleaned out his desk, the next day his "sharing pocket", yet another day we got speech and health folders and a year's worth of art projects. It's amazing what one kid creates in a year.

Grady is counting down too, but he's looking forward to his birthday on Friday. For the last few weeks he's been saying "I'm almost 3!" and "My birthday is in June!" and the expectations are pretty high this year. Cake! Party! Presents! He helped me pick out all of his party decor over the weekend, and he's got his cake flavor all scoped out. Now he just has to wait for the magic to begin.

It's definitely shaping up to be an exciting week.
